Who We Are

Sarah O’Leary

Sarah O'Leary has dedicated over 35 years to practicing union-side Workers' Compensation law, fiercely advocating for injured workers across British Columbia.

Sarah began her career at the Workers' Advisers Office, where she represented injured workers under the Ministry of Labour. She then spent 17 years serving workers at a major healthcare union before joining Rush Crane Guenther for a decade. Most recently, Sarah has been in private practice in Vancouver at Harrison O'Leary LLP, and now, O'Leary Law.

Throughout her career, Sarah has been a passionate educator, teaching Workers' Compensation law to unions for more than three decades. She has taught at Capilano College’s Labour Studies Program, the CLC Winter School for 24 years, through her private law practice, and more recently, with the Vancouver and District Labour Council.

Caitlin O’Leary

Caitlin has been a dedicated advocate for ill and injured workers since 2012, following the completion of her degree at the University of British Columbia with a focus on the social determinants of health. Driven by a deep commitment to equity and inclusion, she works to amplify the voices of those who are often unheard within the healthcare system.

With over eight years of experience in advocacy at a major healthcare union, Caitlin brings a strong background in navigating complex systems on behalf of workers. Her expertise also includes health and welfare benefits policy, strategic communications, and member engagement.

Caitlin is recognized for her proactive, collaborative, and communicative approach. She also served in a leadership role at the First Nations Health Authority—Canada’s first and only provincially governed Indigenous health authority—where she led health provider and community relations, advancing culturally safe care and strengthening relationships across sectors.

Our Goal

At O'Leary Law we are committed to providing injured workers with the best representation to ensure that the workers’ compensation system delivers on its promise of a reliable safety net, whether it be wage loss benefits, medical care, or permanent disability pensions.

The compensation system is vast and complex. It can present insurmountable challenges to those who are ill or trying to recover from injury, and to union advocates trying to offer their membership sound guidance and appeal representation.

Representation and Education

We provide representation to unions wishing to support their members who have been injured or suffered occupational disease while at work. A vital key to assisting injured workers is educating those who represent them.

We believe we have an obligation to assist unions and injured worker advocates with the tools to fight the system, for the benefit of their members who cannot fight for themselves.
